Have your say

As regular readers of this blog may know, Clair Bowern has been compiling a massive database of lexical materials on Australian languages in her NSF-funded project on reconstruction and language classification. She now has over 600,000 items in her database from 1,000 sources (all individually referenced and attributed, unlike some other collections: see here and here).

On her Anggarrgoon blog Claire has opened up a discussion about “how (and whether) to make the materials more available in a way that’s useful, and that protects the original copyright and IP rights of contributors”. She is calling for comments and ideas from potential users about who might be able to use the materials and how.

If you’d like to contribute to the discussion leave comments on Claire’s blog page or email her.
