The substantial volume is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sbs.com.au\/shop\/product\/category\/Books\/11303\/Every-Hill-Got-a-Story-EC\">sold by SBS Books<\/a> and is also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Every-hill-got-story-country-ebook\/dp\/B0102AF03E\/ref=sr_1_1_twi_kin_1\">available on Kindle<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The volume by &#8216;men and women of central Australia and the Central Land Council&#8217; is compiled and edited by Marg Bowman, carrying on from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smh.com.au\/comment\/obituaries\/jane-hodson-helped-guide-the-voice-of-central-australian-aborigines-20140516-zreqw.html\">the late Jane Hodson<\/a>, long term anchor of the CLC media section.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8534\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8534\" style=\"width: 167px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.paradisec.org.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/launch3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-8534\" src=\"http:\/\/www.paradisec.org.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/launch3-222x300.jpg\" alt=\"USB sticks\" width=\"177\" height=\"239\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.paradisec.org.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/launch3-222x300.jpg 222w, https:\/\/www.paradisec.org.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/launch3-758x1024.jpg 758w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 177px) 100vw, 177px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8534\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">some of the USB memory sticks with contributer&#8217;s audio<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It comprises stories from 127 Aboriginal people of the CLC region (southern half of the Northern Territory), each of whom has a portrait and bio, filling the last twenty pages.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a rich selection of striking photographs from a wide range of archives. Most of the stories were told in the speaker&#8217;s own language and are published here in good English translation; the credits of the numerous interviewers, transcribers and translators span three pages (x\u2013xii), followed by a three page introduction to &#8216;Aboriginal languages and kinship&#8217; by Jenny Green.
