{"id":8283,"date":"2015-01-09T19:58:47","date_gmt":"2015-01-09T09:58:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paradisec.org.au\/blog\/?p=8283"},"modified":"2015-01-09T19:58:47","modified_gmt":"2015-01-09T09:58:47","slug":"nsw-aboriginal-languages-in-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.paradisec.org.au\/blog\/2015\/01\/nsw-aboriginal-languages-in-schools\/","title":{"rendered":"NSW Aboriginal Languages in schools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Just came across this (thanks John Hobson!)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>From  NSW  Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards  (BOSTES)<br \/>\nAttention: Teachers of NSW Aboriginal Languages<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nBOSTES has commenced the <a href=\"http:\/\/news.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au\/index.cfm\/2014\/11\/28\/Development-of-a-Stage-6-Aboriginal-Languages-Content-Endorsed-Course\">development of a Stage 6 Aboriginal Languages Content Endorsed Course (CEC):<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The course will contribute to the pattern of study requirements for the Higher School Certificate (HSC) and will appear on school leavers\u2019 Record of School Achievement. It is intended to be flexible in its delivery and will be available as a 1 or 2 Unit course and a Preliminary and\/or HSC course. Content Endorsed Courses are not externally examined and do not contribute to the calculation of a student\u2019s Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR). Preliminary grades and HSC results will be on the basis of school assessment programs.<\/p>\n<p>BOSTES will follow its established syllabus development process that includes consultation with teachers, community members and other key stakeholders.
