It will be held at the Koori Centre of the University of Sydney.  The <\/span><i>Indigenous Languages Strand<\/i><span style='font-style:normal'> will be a useful forum for a wide range of people working in the area of the revival and maintenance of Australian Indigenous languages.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><i>More details follow, or download the form for expressions of interest <a href=\"\/blog\/documents\/call-for-submissions.doc\">here<\/a> &#8211; deadline Friday August 24.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal>The <i>Indigenous Languages Strand<\/i> will have a few focus areas, including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style='margin-top:0cm' type=disc>\n<li class=MsoNormal style='tab-stops:list 36.0pt'>language policy and planning\n<\/li>\n<li class=MsoNormal style='tab-stops:list 36.0pt'>languages in education<\/li>\n<li class=MsoNormal style='tab-stops:list 36.0pt'>language teaching<br \/>\nmethodology<\/li>\n<li class=MsoNormal style='tab-stops:list 36.0pt'>the role and contribution of<br \/>\nlinguistics <\/li>\n<li class=MsoNormal style='tab-stops:list 36.0pt'>issues of language revival<\/li>\n<li class=MsoNormal style='tab-stops:list 36.0pt'>language learning <\/li>\n<li class=MsoNormal style='tab-stops:list 36.0pt'>showcase of NSW Aboriginal<br \/>\nlanguages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=MsoNormal>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal>The audience for the <i>Indigenous Languages Program<\/i> will include: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul style='margin-top:0cm' type=disc>\n<li class=MsoNormal style='tab-stops:list 36.0pt'>Indigenous tertiary students<br \/>\nin education, languages, linguistics<\/li>\n<li class=MsoNormal style='tab-stops:list 36.0pt'>Aboriginal community<br \/>\nlanguage teachers<\/li>\n<li class=MsoNormal style='tab-stops:list 36.0pt'>Language and culture centre<br \/>\nworkers and other community organisations<\/li>\n<li class=MsoNormal style='tab-stops:list 36.0pt'>Teachers, including Language<br \/>\nteachers, Aboriginal teachers and teacher students<\/li>\n<li class=MsoNormal style='tab-stops:list 36.0pt'>Postgraduates and potential<br \/>\npostgraduates in education, languages, linguistics<\/li>\n<li class=MsoNormal style='tab-stops:list 36.0pt'>Linguists and other interested<br \/>\nacademics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=MsoNormal>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'>The organising committee of the <i>Indigenous<br \/>\nLanguages Strand <\/i><span style='font-style:normal'>is now calling for expressions<br \/>\nof interest to provide presentations.
