As technology continues to evolve, it is useful to reflect upon how we capture, distribute and study recorded sound and related information. This presentation will focus upon the importance of using standard formats for digitising sound, images and related documentation. A range of practical examples will illustrate the need for standard file and stream formats for interchange and for long term support. Subsequent discussion will draw together the strategies needed to maintain the viability and usability of content for future generations.
